Clarinet and Saxophone

Nicolas Carrasco, a native of Valdivia, Chile. Nicolas began his studies at the Colegio de Musica J.S. Bach, at the age of six. He continued his studies at the Universidad de Chile and Universidad Mayor as a student of Jorge Levin the Principal clarinet of Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, Nicolas studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, as a student of maestro Ricardo Morales, Principal clarinet of The Philadelphia Orchestra. He has received numerous master classes with many renowned artists such as Walter Boeykens, Michael Webster, Steven Cohen, Alain Damiens, Luis Rossi, Eli Eban, Richard Hawkins, Ronald Van Spaendonck.

Nicolas was the principal clarinetist of The Chile National Youth Orchestra, a position he assumed at the age of 18. Prior to this, he was principal clarinet of the Valdivia Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, He has performed several times as guest clarinet with the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra and Valdivia Chamber Orchestra. He has also appeared as soloist several times with the Valdivia Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Chile National Youth Orchestra, and highlighting his performance with the Brussels Chamber Orchestra in the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Musica Mundi International Chamber Music Festival.
